Make a landing page saying “Save hours every week.” Ask people whether they would pay €12. If ten people say yes, build GitHub and Slack integrations.
Test trust before integrations
Hypothesis: founders can turn a draft made from their own changes into a publishable release note with fewer substantive corrections than their current process. This is untested.
Artifact: a local prototype accepting a pasted, redacted change list. No GitHub access needed for this test.
Participants: invite up to five volunteers from the existing opt-in beta list, with permission to contact them. They must have written a release note recently. No available volunteers means access remains unresolved.
Session: “Show your last release note and the changes behind it. Now use this draft for a comparable release. Talk through anything you would remove or correct.” Record invented claims, missing context and whether they keep the resulting draft.
A decision we can actually make
- Before running
- Cap work at two evenings. Prepare a blank observation sheet; do not fill it with predicted results.
- Continue
- If at least three of five participants keep a draft and no false customer-facing claims remain after review, test the paid offer next. This is a chosen learning threshold, not statistical validation.
- Change
- If users repeatedly rewrite benefits, narrow the tool to grouping changes and collecting missing context.
- Stop this test
- If usable source material cannot be shared, resolve that constraint before building integration code.
- Still unknown
- Willingness to pay, repeat use and scalable acquisition. A retained draft does not answer these.
